This was the fourth and final book in the Ender's Shadow series. And boy was it different. Suffice to say that it continues after the third book but this story is about Bean (the Giant) and his three children on the ship traveling through space. Because it was such a different setting and story from the other sequels I found it very interesting. Also the book is short in comparison to the others so it was a quick read. I read it on my Kindle and it was an enhanced book with illustrations which were kind of cool.
I've heard that some day the author will write a book to join the Ender series to the Shadow series which this book certainly would allow. I look forward to that.

A perfect ending to the Bean saga. Interestingly, it leaves an opening for further exploration of the Ender universe.
Well, I didn't expect this book to be set in space with Bean and the leguminotes, so I really had to warm up to the idea. Right in the beginning, I was expecting to hate the book because of It was not as good as previous books in this series because his children were so not human and showed almost no emotion, which made it hard to connect to them. I liked the reintroduction of the Formics, it was a nice closer, although I would have liked to see Ender and Bean reunited. The end was sad, but right.
Spoiler
the children's plot to kill Bean, but luckily they dropped that right away, and I enjoyed it after that.

High highs and low lows in this one, loved learning more about the formics, not that the mystery wasnt nice. But damn those children came off fairly unlovable IMO and I was ready for any scene with them to be done
2.5 stars. least fave of all osc books... but it was a good ending. very short... it wasnt tthat bad but when i think about speaker for the dead and xenocide etc i cant even imagine these two.books being written.by the same author
But......I definitely reviewed this over the summer!!!!
*3.5
It was too short...by far.
I thought Bean's children were....interesting.
Some parts were shocking, others heartwarming [esp. the development of their feelings towards "the Giant"], others heartbreaking...
For once, though, I feel Card didn't get the opportunity to fully flesh out characters in such a short volume! Must wait for Shadows Alive to see if things improve.

While probably not as good as the others in the shadow series I still enjoyed the book a good deal. I would suggest it if you've read the series thus far.
