I really loved listening to this audiobook! Norse Mythology has always been fascinating to me and Gaiman does a wonderful job weaving the pieces of forgotten stories together to breathe new life into them.

All of the stories were fascinating as they built towards Ragnarok, the death of the gods, and the ultimate end to the world. It was both bittersweet and wonderful to listen to as the gods all slowly succumbed to their fates. I can easily see myself listening to this again!

"He said nothing: seldom do those who are silent make mistakes."

Published in 2017, Norse Mythology retells 15 stories from Norse mythology, including the most famous stories like the theft of Thor's hammer and the binding of Fenrir.  From the outset, it's clear that Gaiman loves Norse mythology since these are well-written stories. I will say that I don't know a lot about Norse mythology, so I don't know if the stories are "accurate", but they are very well-written.

Overall, I really liked these stories (my favorite was Freya's Unusual Wedding - there's some content that may be seen as problematic but I certainly have seen worse) but I really liked the structure of the book. Although these are short stories (with only the characters as the connection link), the way they are organized creates a feeling of continuity that may resemble the continuous narrative of a book. That's something that I don't see a lot with this type of book.

Really liked! A read that I would recommend to fantasy lovers.

Very enjoyable! Quick, short stories that build on from one another. It has an interesting set of characters - although more female characters wouldn't have gone amiss. Loki was really testing me towards the end. I don't think I could've kept reading about him.

Overall very fun and educational. It was interesting to read the origins of these norse myths (or at least Gaiman's interpretations of them).

Suitable for younger readers, but there are graphic descriptions of darker themes:

TW: death, murder, animal death/sacrifice, body horror, torture, violence, war

Another gem from Gaiman. His retellings of these Norse mythology stories was a great read. I enjoyed his take on it. It was mostly Thor and Loki, and stories I have never heard to begin with so I had nothing to compare.  That said, I'm not sure if I'm thebtarget audience.

I do HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who loves Norse mythology. Also recommend to anyone who loves Gaiman's writing style.
