I wanted to like this book more than I did. I guess my biggest issue was ultimately I wanted more in the ending for all the characters.

This book doesn't make sense. The plot has a lot of holes. The writing is good, but the sentences that make a punch, are just there to achieve that feeling. Nothing goes any deeper, nothing is really explained. People can make decisions, I don't understand, I'm absolutely fine with that, I'm actually very much interested usually. But at least I should be given a convincing explanation for the why. This book unfortunately doesn't do that.

I really loved the writing style, every paragraph felt like a poem. And I liked the way everything was connected, even if there was some degree of separation between parts. I really liked learning about Edie's childhood and past.

Overall, I just did not like the story. I was not invested in the plot, it felt very circular and redundant. I also didn't care for Eric and his family, I was more invested in Edie alone than when she was interacting with them.

The writing kept my attention, but rest of the novel just wasn't my cup of tea.
