I seriously love her! My latest facebook posting: "Next time I read another one of Chelsea Handlers books I am going to need someone to come over, or at least bring your car over. My neighbors are going to think I am on drugs if I keep sitting on the porch by myself laughing until I am crying." I am not exaggerating even a little bit, if nothing else I am sure that I burn a few calories! The fact that she wants a dolphin for a pet, and has somewhat of an obsession with black people are just the beginning. Based on the book all of her friends and family not only accept her practical jokes, but participate without having to be clued in. Just awesomeness!

Pros:
--Hilarious. I found myself laughing out loud numerous times. In fact, I started reading it while standing in line to check it out from the library, and I had to put it down because I was laughing so hard.
--A quick read. I finished it in a day.
--Some continuity. You could read this book without reading her other two and you wouldn't be lost.

Cons:
--No real "theme". Her other two books were centered around obvious themes--drinking and relationships. There's no one thing that unifies all her stories here. That being said, it still works.

Long story short: if you enjoy her show and/or her other two books, read away!

Her other 2 books were much better, this one was just ok. It wasn't as funny and I actually got somewhat bored reading it.

A gift for a quick airplane right, I had been admiring this book for afar for quite some time and was incredibly excited to receive it and start reading.

For anyone who has watched Chelsea Lately, you can imagine just what the book might hold. It was a hilarious experience of stories from the past year or so (and longer) of her life, the jokes she has played on her friends, boyfriend, and family. She’s crass, vulgar, unafraid, and often times you wonder if she really likes anyone more than herself … probably not.

It was such a quick read, I never wanted it to end. I am highly looking forward to checking out her previous two books to hear even more fun stories and adventures in the life of Chelsea Handler.

Handler doesn't write with any chronological sense. Her stories are entertaining, sure, but there isn't any substance. There's a lot of self-promotion "My show on E!", "My boyfriend, the CEO of E!" "Did I mention I have a show on E!?" and a lot of un-witty banter. There are no stories of self-discovery, no mention of love lost or lessons learned; these are the type of stories you may tell over drunken dinner party or in a very long car ride when your mix CDs have long since given out. You'll listen, you may even laugh along, but you know its only to pass the time until you get to the end.
