Definitely never read this one. How cute is this?! A story told from Ribsy's POV!

It wasn't dumbed down because it was from a dog's perspective. The way it was done was so clever, and so fun. Beverly Cleary is seriously a treasure to read. Adore her to bits.

I don't get it. Beverly Cleary is just so endearing. The stories are so simple. The characters are so one dimensional. The writing doesn't particularly sparkle. And yet...!

This book is no different. It's charming as all get out. And it got a number of reluctant readers super excited for their book club every single week. One meeting ended and they'd immediately start reading for the next. And I will forever love this book for that. (student book club)

The last of the 6 Henry Huggins books I reread in honor of Beverly Cleary's 100th birthday. I love the way the books come full circle, from finding Ribsy in the first book and Henry's parents reluctantly letting him keep him to his parents actively helping try to find him and fully accepted into the Huggins' home despite being wet, muddy and a bit flea bitten. And despite the entire series being 50+ years old, kids never change and they are still fun books to continue to recommend to kids today.

Probably my least favorite of the Henry Huggins books, but it still gets an easy five stars. I think it's my least favorite just because there's not enough Henry in it.

Read aloud to the beasts age 9, 9 & 7. Remembered loving this one. As an adult the missing dog plot line caused me a small amount of anxiety.

Read to Isabel: surprisingly compelling and unexpected. Mostly from the dog’s POV told in a very clever way.

Another Charlotte bedtime book. She got really involved with this one, worrying about how sad Henry was and if Ribsy would ever make his way home. This was a concern all the way to the last night of reading.
