I adored this book (and the audio was great)! This is marketed as a holiday romance and while I get why it definitely feels more like a women's fiction with a dash of holiday and a dash of romance. It is definitely the perfect read for winter time though.
5/5
Annie Sharpe is a chef who owns a restaurant with her husband of 26 years. Her life takes a major turn when she finds him cheating and finally decides to leave him. She needs a change and ends up with a short term lease in a small coastal town. We follow her through the winter in this town and as she starts to find herself.
This book is just charming! Annie is in her 40's, which I love a MC who is a little later in life. She has adult children who were so supportive and I honestly wish we got a little more of in the book. The town and the cottage are the main parts and they feel very Stars Hollow esq. There are multiple town events and I'd just love to visit this place. Annie really comes into her own in this book and that was great. There are parts that had me laughing out loud (Mr.Knightly) and parts that had me waiting to see what happens.
Overall it was a great cozy read that could be read during any cold weather.

Refreshing to have adults falling in love with adults. Very slow burn with some Home Again vibes.

Super fun and lighthearted. I laughed, I rolled my eyes, I was sad. This one had a whole range of emotions. I read it close to Christmas and it was great for the season
