Girl A felt like it was part true crime and part fiction. I’m not a true crime reader, so it was a strange one for me.

The descriptions of the family home and the abuse the children suffered make it impossible to say I enjoyed this book. It was pretty dark and there was a hopeless atmosphere to the flashbacks. The accounts of Lex in the present day, dealing with her dead mother’s estate and recounting meetings with her siblings were interesting. The way each sibling dealt with their past and who they became was fascinating.

I’m still not sure what to make of this, but it was well written and a solid book.

i was going to rate this 4 stars bc of the thing that happened that i knew was going to happen that i was going to knock off a star for if it happened, but i just enjoyed this book so much. it's not a thriller, so u shouldn't go into it expecting that. it's more a psychological portrait of a family. i found the whole thing super intriguing.

This book was intense. I mean you know going into it that it’s about abuse and trauma. I’m glad to know they moved in and lived successful lives but in some ways they are still broken. It was an okay book and story but I felt wanting more.

I don't know what it is about long chapters that completely turn me off to a book and this book had the longest chapters ever.

The book confused me. It jumped around a lot with not much explanation or details on anything. Very boring. I was also disappointed in how vague it was when it came to explaining what happened. Hard to read and follow. I got to chapter 4, which is half way through the book, when I threw in the towel added it to my DNF list. I just didn't see it as worth any more of my time, I could be reading something better

Dark story about child abuse and life after. A little rambling in places - seemed to tail off towards the end
