As someone who has always been called quiet, shy, timid, bashful, contemplative, etc. of course I had to eventually read this book.

Most of this was a 5 star read to me and the rest was around 4 stars. So let's call it 4.5 stars. :)

Excellent book - well researched and accessible. I’d recommend this to any introvert who wants to be their authentic self in a world that implies that extrovert behaviour is ‘better’. Susan Cain covers the workplace and interpersonal relationships, and encourages introverts (and extroverts) to value who they really are. My only criticism is that the font size in the paperback is so small, it’s a challenge to read comfortably!

I read this book because I always felt like an introvert and sometimes I felt I was less than my extrovert friends because of it. In this book Susan uses facts and studies to make us see that introverts are as good as extroverts, and because they are introverts. She also gives an example of a couple where she's an introvert and he's an extrovert and how that affects their relationship and how they were able to adapt to their way of being.

It's a good read for introverts and extroverts alike.

DNF. I went into this thinking it was one thing but ended up being something else. At first I enjoyed it and could resonate with some of the authors idea but it quickly turned into a repetitive bore. No fault of the author and am sure is very well researched and is a great informative read but I struggle with keeping engaged in non-fiction books and am usually quite picky with them. I prefer memoirs and autobiographies if I am going to read non-fiction over topics like this so was defo not the right read for me personally. I think I can only manage a few pages/short articles for these kind of topics so will stick to this for next time!
