Oh, I so definitely enjoyed this book. It had everything I was looking for in a mafia romance. The mysterious leader of the Russian bratva. (Russians and an Irishman have that thing about them that draws me to them.) The main heroine with a stronger personality, completely different from the annoying women that dominate this theme. Plus a gripping plot and a suspenseful slow-burn between the characters. And the cherry on the cake was an unexpected mid-blowing plot twist.
Unfortunately, it all came to a head when reading the second volume in this series. I don't know exactly what caused it, but somewhere in the middle, I lost interest in the story completely.

Of course, as always, this doesn't mean that the same thing will happen to you. Therefore, I encourage you to read this series. The first book made a huge impression on me, so maybe the ending will knock you off your feet.

5 stars for Konstantin Tarkhanov and Elena Falcone!

Ok, so I have a *slight* obsession with mafia/bratva books (I blame [a:Cora Reilly|7024504|Cora Reilly|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1575442992p2/7024504.jpg] & [a:Danielle Lori|15272720|Danielle Lori|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1533861308p2/15272720.jpg]), so I was already looking forward to this. Bree's previous series, [b:The Bloody Bride|51596283|The Bloody Bride (The Rocchetti Dynasty, #1)|Bree Porter|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1582454748l/51596283._SY75_.jpg|76189901] was a unique mafia book as the couple had a slow burn arranged marriage, unlike most mafia novels that have insta-lust straight away and her heroine Sophia was no meek mafia bride, however, I did give 3 stars to that series as it wasn't as good as some of the other mafia books I‘ve read before. HOWEVER, this book was really fckin good
