The perfect summer book. It's cute, sweet and fun to read. I loved other books by this writer and this one met my expectations.
Recommended!
Many thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for this ARC

Martin's story is set in the fictional but the utterly charming location of Sandcastle Bay. Her cast of characters encompasses village life excellently with no one able to have a private life, the gossip mill running wild and well-meaning meddlers in the mix. Join the endearingly clumsy, accident-prone Melody in her quest to capture Jamie's heart you won't regret it. Brimming with laugh-out-loud disaster moments and a side helping of heart-wrenchingly poignant moments this is the perfect summer read. It is the second book in but each book focuses on a different character so you don't need to read them from the beginning (I have read the first - yet but its now on the list!).

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for sending me this in exchange for an open and honest review.

Just a relaxing, feel good book. Holly Martin's books are such a great escape.

Melody moves to Sandcastle Bay to be near her sister, who is busy raising her nephew. Her best friend, Tori lives close by, having found love in the little village.

Melody is crushing hard on Jamie, the sculptor in the shop across fro hers, but they are both so shy around each other, it seems like they will never move forward.

I blame Holly Martin and Jill Mansell on my continued single state. I keep waiting for true love to just appear in front of me. They make it seem so easy! But even if it doesn't improve my love life, a Holly Martin book always improves my weekend!

comradebiblio's review against another edition

DID NOT FINISH

Bizarre politicised rant against mothers and mothers rights spoiled an otherwise lacklustre, trite and poorly written story

I absolutely love Holly Martin’s books, although I have said in my previous reviews that all of her books are pretty much carbon copies of each other, with names and places interchanged. That said, I love her writing style and the easy romance within her stories is really appealing, the characters are always likeable, and the girl always gets the happy ending. What more could you want in a chick-lit romance novel? Each of the books are vaguely connected to the other books in the series, but not so much that you can’t read them on their own. I’d highly recommend Holly Martin if you need some relaxed holiday reads.
