I really enjoyed the world building, and the exploration of each character as individuals as well as their group dynamics. the perspective taking of the chapters was also interesting, and the narrators all added nuance to their performances in ways I appreciated (especially during internal monologues). unfortunately Part 6 definitely got too trigger heavy for me, and I found the expositions started to get both much longer and much less believable. not the book for me, unfortunately!

I loved this book. I really thought I knew what would happen and even when it surprised me, it surprised me again. Every page turn was fun, mysterious, and heart dropping. The writing is so visual and descriptive to me. I love the way it all talks and shows you what’s going on. I’ve never really jumped ship for a new ship and back to an old ship on to a new ship, but boy do I just love every character with anyone, even in weird pseudo relationships that they don’t even realize is love. Great book. Great story. Wtf is gonna happen next. I really don’t know… there’s so many areas to explore here and so many questions, I can’t wait to read the other two books in the series

If this book had been around in 2014, it would've had a CHOKEHOLD on Tumblr.

The pretentiousness that runs through the entirety of this book ruins what is an interesting premise. It started out strong but has long bursts of stagnant character development and the sense of waiting for the other shoe to drop, which, when it does, is rushed and not as satisfying as one would hope. It tries too hard to be clever but fails to hit, and comes off as a pick-me novel.

I thought this book was good. I found it a bit slow and dense at times making it a bit difficult to get through.

I didn’t find the plot twist super surprising but I like the way it was explained. I found Libby to oftentimes be annoying and I wasn’t a huge fan of Tristan’s audiobook narrator. I liked Nico and Parisa’s characterizations. I also liked the rivalry between Nico and Libby.

All in all it was a bit confusing at times but I was able to catch up and get on the same page. Not a bad book

This book was alright. I do love the quote I read in a tumblr post about them that said something along the lines of “the atlas six are whatever the opposite of a found family is” which is so right. I did enjoy the messiness but the plot was bogged down by the vague descriptions of whatever they were actually doing that whole year. Truly I do not know other than having weird sexual situationships with each other. The Ezra payoff also wasn’t that satisfying. But overall a decent and enjoyable read.

this book was truly a mystery for me. I didn't understand what was happening 90% of the time, and I really hoped that getting to the end would give me some answers, but it ends with only more questions to be (hopefully) answered in the next book.

I do understand why some people dislike the characters, there is almost zero development they go through (except maybe Tristan, but even that's a stretch). there is much more focus on building the plot and basis of the magic, and even that wasn't explained well.

this book did not do a good job in making me want to read the next one. so, I won't for now. maybe in the future, when I'm more in the mood.
