I love Choi’s work. This such a beautiful and harrowing conclusion to the trilogy. I think in terms of narrative trajectory, it’s up there with DMZ Colony. There is such rich historical and linguistic analysis here. Choi is so thoughtful and imaginative when it comes to playing, dissecting, and doubling meaning/words/language.

A good deal being lent to writings on the Gwangju Uprising and massacre is where this collection is at it’s most relevant; reading the collection while the student protests  against the the genocide in Palestine, couldn't be more timely.
