the tension- chefs kiss but a certain trope made me want to rip out my hair and honestly the ending was kind of a let down for me because of the tension throughout the book

The writing was good for the most part, but wasn’t a fan of the characters. It didn’t feel like the love story was flushed out enough so it was hard for me to root for them.

Arc from NetGalley
First I want to say I picked this book because of the cover and its intriguing cover but then I read the prologue and was like, okay, this is interesting.
Yes, I've read about second-chance romance before, but most of the time, it was because one of them lied or did something stupid or dumb, in this case, I could see how they both needed time apart to grow as individuals, not that this took away from how much they loved each other. One of my favorite quotes from the novel “Does this mean I'm no longer the center of your world?" He places his hand in the middle of my chest, just over my heart. "I was wrong. You were never the center," I say. "You were the gravity." Even though I enjoyed this book, I also thought more communication would have avoided all the conflicts they faced. But then again without the miscommunication added the story would have been completely different.

So this is Love

I really enjoyed this one second chance romances, except when there’s the constant conflict of questionable cheating and other man / woman drama. I think that’s what aggravated me about this story. There were so many “I can explains” from the MMC that after a few I was like well maybe we just need to move on if he keeps doing these things hmmm? When the much needed conversation happened between them it didn’t feel like enough.

That said, I absolutely loved Kaliya. She’s trying to make a name for herself in an industry that is full of obstacles. She’s not afraid to call out the moments when someone tells her to just do it when being able to just do it comes with privilege that person has when she doesn’t. She takes the action to make a change. I really admired her. My rating was bumped up to 4 stars for her and her story.

A dreamy second-chance romance set amidst the highs and lows of the movie business. I adore Kaliya as a protagonist — she's passionate, determined, knows what she's worth, and just the right amount of messy. I love the world and characters Myah Ariel created in this book and can't wait to read whatever she writes next!
