I really liked this book. it's a bit of a slow burn, but totally worth it in the end. I loved Virgil, and his relationship with both Nathan and Marie. I liked seeing first hand what life on a reservation is like. The mystery was good, and really pushed along the story, I read most of it in one day. Once the story gets started, it's hard to put the book down.

4 out of 5 stars. Having grown up in South Dakota and lived my adult life so far in Nebraska, I enjoyed reading this book. I have been to pretty much every place mentioned in the book except for the reservations. At times, this was a difficult book to read, but I am so glad to have read it.

I liked this book. I had one major qualm with it though…I didn’t find it realistic nor acceptable that Virgil leaves Nathan basically right after he ODs.
