Super corny, but it's a great guide to basic scientific literacy and making health decisions

This is absolutely the best book about chemistry I’ve ever read! [b:Ingredients: The Strange Chemistry of What We Put in Us and on Us|48822623|Ingredients The Strange Chemistry of What We Put in Us and on Us|George Zaidan|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1574355997l/48822623._SY75_.jpg|74140939], written by [a:George Zaidan|8264908|George Zaidan|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1575666899p2/8264908.jpg] clearly summarizes an enormous amount of dietary research. He uses logical analogies and explanations and simple graphics to help translate complicated concepts for the rest of us. And, it’s funny. I laughed out loud many times (and probably snorted once or twice).

If you enjoy reading science, nutrition and humor, this is a great choice!

insightful, thorough, gives a great perspective food/suscreen stuff and tools to combat misinformation and health anxiety
entertaining but in a painfully millennial way

A critical and humourous look into the tangled-up world of nutritional epidemiology. Are ultra-processed foods bad for you? Not a straightforward answer as it turns out. A science book has never made me audibly laugh out loud multiple times, but this one was clever and I enjoyed the read.

A fun, fast read about cheetos, sunscreen and smoking [among other things] with a very large dollop of statistics.
