I have really been in an “All YA sucks” slump for quite some time, and this was the first book to pull me out of this funk.
I LOVED IT....I couldn’t put it down.
I LOVED IT....I couldn’t put it down.
This book was pretty good, nothing spectacular. I enjoyed the ending more than most thriller books, but like a lot of books I’ve read lately I felt that the beginning and middle sections of the book needed to be edited more because they added unnecessary information and didn’t add to the plot properly.
The cover itself drawed you in. It starts off with Charlie Calloway who goes to boarding school but all she wants is to join this secret society called the “As”. Charlie keeps trying to put the past behind her but somehow it is always catching up to her. The book is told in different perspectives and different timelines. It goes back 10 years when Grace, Charlie mom goes missing. They never could figure out if she left on her own or if someone murdered her and of course the dad was the first suspect. So Charlie tries to figure out what really happened to her mom and also tries to get accepted to be part of the “As”. I really enjoyed this book!
So American and rich and entitled it hurts. Even the ones who weren't rich were such a pain. I don't think there's a single character I liked. There was absolutely no need for it to be 505 pages-
