Charlie Calloway is a junior at Knollwood Prep when she gets tapped to be a part of the most elite secret club, the A’s. For years, she’s struggled with the mystery and heartbreak around her mother’s disappearance, but now she finally feels like she’s found a place she fits in. The A’s begin The Game, a series of escalating requests for the lower class men, and the longer Charlie plays, the more her mother and father’s past collide with her present.

I was immediately drawn to Charlie as a heroine, and the shady, pompous world of Knollwood Prep was a deliciously fun setting.

The way Klehfoth weaves together the past and present is truly artful, and each character’s POV felt real, raw, and empathetic.

This book challenges the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves, examines the costs of lying to ourselves, and explores the implications of generational patterns.

I can’t wait to see what Klehfoth writes next!!

I really liked this book, because it was very unique and the storyline was interesting. The plot twists were unexpected and I was happy with the ending. It was a bit long but I liked how it wasn't slow-paced.

4.5 stars

I really liked this book, I just felt like it took a while to get to the juicy-page-turning parts. Most of it, I read as a general fiction story rather than a thriller. I liked that it told the same story from multiple points of view. The last 100-150 pages had me hooked! This is when I felt like I had finally gotten to the good part.

By this point, y’all know how I feel about thrillers told in multiple storylines — this one hooked me right from jump street
