I love ballet and I love this book!!!!!

So often romances with ballet in them are boring with no understanding of ballet and just using it to be sexy. But in this, Angyal sets a beautiful stage for a beautiful romance that was filled with genuine ballet references and discussions of the complicated field (in which Angyal is an expert)

Marcus and Heather's story was romantic and fun with much adventuring around Sydney, giving me a picture of what a wonderful place it is.

As a ballet dancer myself, it was really fun to see it accurately represented in fiction and I'm excited for the second book in the series (of which I have an ARC of!)

3.5. this was fun! a fairly typical fluffy romance novel but with a setting I loved obvi.

Principal dancer Heather Hays (who, full disclosure, I pictured as Tiler Peck THE entire time) breaks up with her super shitty nepo baby boyfriend and shlups down to Australia to perform as a guest artist with their national company. Naturally, she meets Marcus, a down in the dumps soloist who's recovering from an injury and they fall for each other right away...at a company where relationships between company members are strictly forbidden. Chaos ensues.

This is fairly straightforward but still pretty sweet. I loved the Sydney setting and had fun reading the Australian characters' accents in my head lmao. There's an underlying plot of tackling sexism and inequality in the ballet world, which might be a touch unrealistic but I still loved it. And it's what I expected from Chloe Angyal tbh.

Overall I really liked it, nice to read a book about ballet by someone who knows it. Cute!

This was a cute, easy to read romance. I liked the main characters, and the story had a good flow to it. Was pleasantly surprised to see the author lives in Iowa after I finished the book!
