DNF - I was 60% through but i just couldn’t carry on. It is written and executed so poorly and all the conversation are so unrealistic and cringey. Although there was so much constantly happening, it was boring.

2.5? It's the first book I've made myself finish this month so that counts for something. this is literally a nickelodeon movie in book form like The Boy Who Cried Werewolf but with vampires honestly the first half of the book was a lot mlre enjoyable and then we kind of drifted off into telling mode and everything happened way too quickly without being talked about at all

An okay read. The plot was fun with a mystery to solve and the atmosphere works well for Halloween. I liked the setting and learning about New Orleans murderous past.
Overall, I wish there had been more time spent connecting with the characters, this was a plot heavy book but with moments of characters building relationships, but the time wasn't spent to see those relationship ties feel fully fleshed out.
