You meet Alexis & Noah in the second book, and Alexis especially is given a big storyline but not with a lot of background, so I was interested to see how her story developed.
This is a friends-to-lovers trope and it was so well done! There was a lot of side plots with complicated storylines - a couple of them felt a little forced, but overall they all wove together pretty well, and the story always came back to Alexis & Noah. Also, Alexis has a beast of a cat and the scenes with it had me shaking with laughter!
As with the first two in the series, I really appreciate how the author has the characters talk about romance novels and how the genre gets dismissed so easily by people who (typically) have never read one. It might me pandering a bit but I am here for it!
[Content Warning for sexual assault - not on the page, but a lot of discussion about it in general terms throughout the story.]
Moderate: Death and Sexual assault
