I was hesitant to read the second book in this series, but when I saw the description of this one, the third in the series, I decided to take a chance. Well, this one had more parallel plot lines than the previous novel, the first book focused exclusively on the pair of individuals, I was intrigued because I got to see more of the community and ecosystem, in which all of these characters live. I also snorted exactly twice at one of the other characters commentary, so I will be picking up the book that focuses on that particular character soon! 3.5/5

Favorite couple of the series so far. Friends to lovers trope always makes me melt.

I received an ARC from Netgalley. All opinions expressed are my own. I was not required to leave a positive review

This is the 3rd book in a series. I have read the first one, but didn't read book #2. I missed a bit of the back story of these characters, so I'd recommend reading this series in order.

Noah and Alexa are best friends. Noah owns a private security company, and Alexa owns a cat cafe that is a safe haven for women who have survived assault. Noah and Alexa talk every day, and text each other all day.

When Noah admits to his friends in the Bromance Book Club that he wants an intimate relationship with Alexa, he is soon becomes a member. A rather reluctant member of the book club. The banter in this group was my favourite part of this book. I'm certain that a few other of those dudes will be getting their own book soon.

Alexa's mom passed a few years prior, and Alexa never learned who her father was. When she's contacted by a sister who is looking for her, Alexa is surprised to learn that her father has known about her for 3 years without contacting her. Now her father is sick,
Spoiler and unless he gets a kidney transplant in the next few months, he will die.

This situation is the focus of a lot of the angst and drama in this book. Noah feels like the family is using Alexa... and I certainly can't blame him for those feelings.

In this book we get to meet the other members of the book club: Thea & Gavin from book one, and Mack (Noah's best friend) and Liv (Alexis friend) from the second book, also making an appearance is the Russian, and Colton, a country music superstar. It looks like the next book is about the Russian (his name is Vlad apparently), and he has been quite an interesting character so far.

4.25 ⭐️

this book took me forever to read because i was so busy and when that happens i don’t really connect with the characters which sucks.

noah is probably one of my fav bromance bookclub boys so i was extremely happy he got a book of his own!

for the part where they fall in love, it was kind of fast and i feel like they needed more, basically of everything.

i love all the stuff about both of their pasts and it has a lot of meaning which is great.

i definitely wanted more of everything, i did not really like the plot as the previous 2 but it was okay i guess.

for the spice

Eh. I didn't DISLIKE the book enough to not finish it. But the whole story/plot felt very bland.

I liked the heroine better in the book that WASN'T about her and she was a secondary character than I did when she was the main character. She seemed very vanilla had no depth. She was put in these stressful situations...and felt no anger or angst about it? And then when she did actually express herself, it was over in .05 seconds and she moved on.

I honestly spent most of the book agreeing with the hero as he was telling her to stand up for herself, tell them what she actually felt, and be mad about what was going on--which ironically was theoretically the "unhealthy" character. But he felt much more in touch with himself than she did.

This was also the first book where I felt like the men's book club was really out of touch and needing to respect some boundaries. There were multiple points in the book where I just wanted to tell them to back off. They were pushy and definitely crossed more lines for me in this book than before.

It's definitely the worst book of the series so far. The way Adams is cranking this books out, maybe take a second and really develop the characters to have a little more depth to them?
