I think I enjoyed Apple and Raven's novellas less because they're already the main characters of the novels and these didn't shed much new light on them as characters.

Read this to my mums friends daughter that I was baby sitting and the modern day references were funny (one reflection etc.). Simple and basic but Lucy enjoyed it.

Of all the Ever After High characters so far, Apple seems to be one of my least favorites. She just seems snobby.
"Snoozy! Snappy!" Apple called to her dwarf lackeys. "The first four trunks are ready to go. Would you be so kind as to carry them down? You, too, Pouty--don't you stick out that bottom lip, you silly."
"Apple's father stood beside his wife, one hand on his sword hilt, always ready to do battle--though of course he'd never actually done any battle. His claim to fame had been falling in love with a comatose girl inside a glass coffin. But he looked so regal with a sword."

Roztomilý začátek roztomilé série. (Vlastně celého frenčízu, Mattel toho chce prodat víc, než jen knihy.)
Tento kraťoučký textík je takovou ochutnávkou ke knize Storybook of legends, je to celá první kapitola. Vidíme tu náznaky toho čeho se dočkáme později v ještě větším množství. Haleina jemného humoru, narážky na příběhy a jejich různé adaptace (jako třeba Disneyho filmy atd.), i trable hlavní postavy.
Apple má skoro všechno, co si dívka může přát. Bohatství, sluhy, zástupy fanoušků, krásu i zářnou budoucnost. Jen kdyby v ní její vlastní lidé viděli víc, než jen pěknou tvářičku, když se tolik snaží.
Ani netuší, že zakrátko bude muset dokázat, jak dobrou vůdkyní a princeznou vlastně dokáže být.

I will probably give the same review for all of the short stories in this series. They are meant to give you a little bit of background on the kids of our favorite fairy tale characters. These kids all go to the same school, and their sophomore year they have to relive their parents fairy tale. The premise is really cute, and I see it as the anti Monster High. I have even touted it that way for parents who want something like Monster High with the dolls and cartoons, but do not want monsters a part of their kids up bringing.
If there was ever a stereotypical cheerleader it is Apple White. In any way you take that it fits. The happy giddy family, with a hidden attitude.

This was even shorter than the Briar Beauty sample. A bit juvenile, even considering the market. Read with the little one.
