*received this as an ARC from netgalley. I enjoyed this book. The beginning was a little slow but then the last 4 hours I read straight through. The end keeps you wondering. I’m only assuming the end decision. I don’t really love books that just end so I’m pretending I know what happened ha!!

3.5✨ Slightly towards 4. I was rooting for Zara and Ivy’s sisterhood and that they would finally be honest with each other. The book rants about feminism in the beginning, just for Zara to fall head over heels into Henry’s world despite the warning signs. So much happens in this book that left me hoping for a big bang at the end only to end up feeling like a deflated balloon.
I will still give Dandy Smith her flowers. I was deeply hooked for most of the book and I loved that she used Zara to portray the mentality of a loyal friend vs a ‘hopeless’ romantic. I was just left unsatisfied.

I had mixed feelings about this book at first, but it definitely grew on me. With themes of friendship and love, and a thread of toxic relationships running through it, I often found it hard to truly sympathise with any of the characters — yet I still couldn’t put it down! I really enjoyed the setting, with familiar places like Bath, Frome, and Trowbridge bringing the story to life for me. It was a nice touch that the author mentioned The Hunting Raven bookshop in Frome, too.
It's rare that I hate every character and still enjoy the book but that's exactly how The Perfect Match played out. There were so many layers and I didn't know who to trust. I love Dandy Smith's books!

Overall, I enjoyed this. Yea, there were a few things we had to overlook to get the story where it needed to be but it’s engaging nonetheless. Ivy being the secret mistress was a bit of a stretch for me. You wouldn’t let your best friend date your weird ex just because you didn’t want her to know you slept with an unavailable man. there were also a few side stories that didn’t go anywhere of seem to add anything.
Probably my least favourite Dandy Smith so far but well written and entertaining.

I thought I’d like this a lot because of how much I enjoyed The Wrong Daughter but the FMC in this was so mind-numbingly stupid I couldn’t help but spend the whole novel victim blaming the vapid wench.
I do love a good thriller and this book had so many twists and turns! It does a really good job of demonstrating how things in life aren't black and white, just different shades of grey depending on your perspective ❤️
Not bad. Could benefit from better editing so the flow is flowing but the story isn't bad.
