Started this on a road trip and finished it in my comfy chair. I liked the method of delivery of this book, having accounts of Athena but never actually getting Athena's internal monologue so you see the many sides of her and what she tells people. After reading a big book on different religions, I greatly enjoyed seeing Athena's spiritual journey what propelled her along it. Many more thoughts on the book but I'll let it ruminate in my brain box.

A story with some hidden meanings that I definitely did not pick up on, though I am certain one takeaway is fulfilling your potential no matter what other's think. I love the way he writes and I enjoyed the unique style of hearing from various characters about the 'witch'.

A nice book to stop and ponder aspects of one's role in life but not as powerful as the Alchemist.

A great novel, unexpected ending, a beautiful book, full of everything!
And as a muslim there were a lot of facts that I learned, and it got me to think of Islam in a different way, that I got even more attatched to it!
It got me to realize what a great religion it is, and how I've underestimated it, it opened my mind to a lot things that I'll never see the same any more.
What a great read it was!

Oh boy, where do I start? I hated this book. I can't be objective because I know someone in my life that is exactly like the main character and it just drove me crazy. The philosophy or the lessons of this book couldn't be more different than my views. I normally love Paulo Coelho but this book wasn't it.
I couldn't put this book down. So many wonderful ideas presented throughout the story. Great story to allow opportunity to reflect on ones own life.

At first, I didn't like it. The story of the orphanage in Romania was too similar to another story of his. And the theme of the Goddess is in, I think, all three of the previous books of his that I read recently. Maybe I'm tired of this theme, and that's why I've become increasingly frustrated at the lackluster enjoyment I've been getting from his books. However, of the Goddess/Mother-themed books I've read by him, this is one of the better ones.
