I really wanted to like this more than I did. It’s written like a series of interviews; narratives told from different speakers. Unfortunately, however, the voices of each of these different perspectives sounded pretty much identical in style and tone. He seemed to conflate sexuality with feminism, which coexist obviously, but one does not dictate the other. I didn’t care for (or really about) Athena. It felt like the author was too busy writing about a woman he loved and confusing it with spirituality? Anytime we started to deep dive into motherhood or femininity it definitely felt like a man writing about what he likes to imagine women think and feel. A weird romantic notion of paganism, mothering, and sexuality. The surprise ending also sort of rendered the fictional purpose of the book unnecessary and missing crucial voices.
I got this book by accident. I had ordered online the final book of Harry Potter series. But I got this book instead. At first I was angry, but decided to read it.
But after I started reading,I couldn't put down the book.It was my first P
aulo Coelho experience. This book really changed my life,my views, especially my perspective.
The book has a storyline, but the purpose of the book lies inside, hidden You can't put it together into words, but you can feel it.
Go and grab the book.

Once upon a time there was a book with a great name, and a great author and an interesting cover. It had all the makings of a success! And then one day, a young book worm finally decided to read it and then

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: For me, reading about someone else's spiritual journey is like having someone else pick your nose. Uncomfortable and unsuccessful!
Maybe this makes me a bad person, but I just didn't like this book. I can't help but roll my eyes and furrow my brow. I felt the same way during the India portion of "[b:Eat, Pray, Love|19501|Eat, Pray, Love|Elizabeth Gilbert|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1269870432s/19501.jpg|3352398]." I enjoyed most of the book, but it's just too much for me to go with you on your soul's adventure. "Good for you," I often think, "but leave me out of it."

It was interesting to shape a character from so many different impressions of her. The story is told from the points of view of those that interacted with her, but we never get in her head. Ever. Which was perfect, because none of the other characters seemed to fully understand her either. It leaves you with a knowingly incomplete impression of her and I liked that part of it. The story itself is a bit disjointed and I kept putting it down and finding myself ill motivated to pick it back up.
