okay, i am big paolo coehlo fan. up until this point he's never written ANYTHING I would give less than 4.5 stars. but i couldn't get into this one - the main character around whom the booked is based, but whom you do not actually hear from (ala Citizen Kane) did not seem compelling enough to deserve all the mystery surrounding her.
but i really, really wanted to like it...maybe i'll like the next one better...

I really enjoyed the exploration of witchcraft and spirituality. The ending surprised me and felt like it belonged to a different book… a different kind of story, but I still liked it.
I am not a spiritual man, do not attach much meaning on my review if you are.
If you are also non-spiritual, I'd suggest don't read this. The only thing I did is because I ran out of stuff to read on vacation and my gf brought this.

Damn... I was getting bored with the book, because although I've been loving the belief and principles part of it, I was skeptic about the plot. But in the end, it got better. 😍 I was debating if I'm going to reread it again in the future, (my basis if I'm going to keep it in my library or give/donate it), but by the end I'm convinced I need to keep it.
A strange story that I think I liked though the twist at the end was ridiculous.

Athena's character delved into her spiritual and life-affirming journey. A bit preachy at parts. But a novel meant to made readers reflect and ask more of themselves in terms of knowing who they are.
