This book has some really killer quotes to live by and I am really enjoying going through all of Brené Brown’s work lately. I think I just wish there were a bit more instruction or examples on how to put these ideas into practice.

I really think everyone has something to gain from reading this book, which steps through the common impediments to ‘whole-hearted living’: shame and fear of vulnerability. It’s practical, relatable and can’t help but make you think about how you approach your relationships. It did peter out for me a little towards then end when it focused on parenting and organisational culture etc - but the content on interpersonal relations was really rich.

Loved this book!! I was worried it was going to be “self-helpy” at first but it was much more research-based! This book has definitely changed my outlook on life for the better. Thank you Brené!

This book was at times hard for me to get through (those darn emotions) and overall made some really important points.
I do hold issue, though, with the very distinct gender binary that Brene Brown frames a lot of her research in.

I felt touched, but since one has to think a lot, it took a while to finish it
