5 stars to reflect the reality that everyone needs to understand this content and do their part to nudge generational inertia in the better direction that Brene explains in this book.

4 stars for my ability to walk this walk. It’s often hard to remember in the moment. I think I’ll need to actually reread this one.

The lauding of JK Rowling's writing did not age well. Definitely should've been edited out of Brown cared - but that didn't happen. DNFd

I don’t have enough words to describe how well this book is written, and how wonderfully it describes the experience of life.

If you’ve read and enjoyed The Gifts of Imperfection, this you will definitely enjoy. If you haven’t, you could read that first as it is referenced semi-frequently in this book. I wouldn’t say it’s required though.

Another beautiful work filled with personal stories and deep thoughts. Really helpful for those considering their new purpose in life or just on their growth journey.

I have a feeling this is a book I’ll have to re-read and revisit when I need reminders of these very important lessons. I learned a lot and appreciate that the book is grounded in detailed research.

The writing made it a little difficult to digest in places but the overall message was really interesting and altered my world view. I’ll be re-reading .
