I was starting to get kind of bored with this series, but I’m glad I decided to pick this one up in a whim because I think it’s my new favorite of the bunch. Asher and Kole were so sweet together and I liked how they seemed to have those most distinct characterizations of all the couples we’ve gotten so far. Their friends-to-lovers build up was so sweet, and I was honestly happy when there wasn’t a dramatic third act break up. I will say, I was hoping it was going to feel a little bit more taboo with Kole being the coach’s son and all, but it is what it is.

2nd re-listen. Rating stays the same.
Ok I quickly did the re-listen I said I would and I figured out why I wasn't loving this as much as I did when I read it. My mood has been since December in a nosedive and it hasn't come back up since and that really affects how much I like, love, dislike, want to continue, dnf, etc a story. And here is the same because my discontent when listening was coming from how young Asher and Kole are and their actions/re-actions reflect that age (kudos to the authors for that). That by no means is a bad thing, it's just me being in a low mood not being able to connect with them.
It still misses a HEA epilogue although the authors delivered it together with West's in the next book.
----------
Undoubtedly Iggy Toma and Alexander Cendese are a great narrating duo and really Alexander here was magnificent, especially in the scene were Asher was crying all over Kole and West.
The thing is though that I'll probably need to do a re-listen of this because I caught myself thinking at some point that I wasn't loving this as much as I did when reading it.
I'm putting 4 stars now as rating based on the 5 star performance of the narrators and the 4 stars the story deserves from Asher's crying scene and after.
