I must admit even though I enjoy the Michael Bennett novels I can't help but to wonder how he can afford all of those kids lol
A great mystery to read on a rainy day. Still taking a break from serious fiction and being totally entertained by James Patterson
Hadn't read any James Patterson in awhile, and this was a fun one to pick up. Mike Bennett and his ten kids plus his adventures as a NYC cop. Quick fun read.
I really enjoy the quickness in which I can read a Patterson book. Michael Bennett is a great character and I enjoy the family tie in. The ending of this book however was a bit over the top for me.
A serial killer is running around Manhattan targeting those that think wealth is what makes the world go round. It was billed as a killer taking out the wealthy, but those killed seemed to be those that take care of the wealthy and have attitude to those that aren't. (so the guy is not really Robin Hood) Michael Bennett has to stop this guy. This is better than the first one. Not quite as hallmarky (if a book about someone who has to stop killers can be hallmarky) Although we do have the distraction of the house full of kids. Wife is dead, not Christmastime any more. But the kids are all home sick with the flu. Plus the killer decides to target Bennett's family when Bennett thwarts him. And, of course, Bennett has to do some crazy stunt in a plane to save NYC.
Synopsis: A calculating killer who calls himself The Teacher is taking on New York City, killing the powerful and the arrogant. His message is clear: remember your manners or suffer the consequences! For some, it seems that the rich are finally getting what they deserve. For New York's elite, it is a call to terror.
Only one man can tackle such a high-profile case: Detective Mike Bennett. The pressure is enough for anyone, but Mike also has to care for his 10 children-all of whom have come down with virulent flu at once!
Discovering a secret pattern in The Teacher's lessons, Detective Bennett realizes he has just hours to save New York from the greatest disaster in its history. From the #1 bestselling author comes RUN FOR YOUR LIFE, the continuation of his newest, electrifying series.
My thoughts: This is more like the Patterson I love. Fast paced and full of suspense. Even though I figured out the 'mystery' before the cops did, I still enjoyed this book. Thank goodness I didn't give up on him. Hope to see more of the Michael Bennett books.

I found this book to be exciting and easy to listen to. I have listened to other books in the Michael Bennett series, so it was nice to listen to the continuation. I enjoy James Patterson as something I can listen to while doing other things.

Not my favorite Patterson series, but good for a quick read.
