Greatly enjoyed the first half of the book. It was a page turner, and i appreciated how the author took a balanced approach(at least from what i read). However, there was graphic sexual scenes starting in part two, and so I stopped reading

As a white woman, this was a really challenging read. It challenged some of my perspectives, and opened my eyes to a history in Britain I was only peripherally aware of. I highly recommend it.
