Many things really stuck out - vocabular motifs, efficient and intriguing character description and development, and some pretty horrifying subject matter all made it difficult to put down. Even though it was clear the story had ended, I still sorta wish I had more to read.

fui esperando algo focado no plot do canibalismo, já sabendo do que se tratava a história, mas qual não foi a minha surpresa ao encontrar um livro de um cara estupr*ndo uma pessoa vulnerável que não tem sequer percepção de como funciona fogo. a todo momento que ele fala dela sentia um imenso desconforto com a facilidade que o discurso poderia facilmente ser aplicado pra uma criança.

até então não tinha parado pra pensar sobre o livro, só queria terminar logo. comecei e refletir mais sobre o que tava lendo depois que senti a necessidade de falar com minha namorada sobre a cena dos cachorros com os adolescentes. foi uma cena extremamente violenta que não teve objetivo nenhum pro estudo do personagem, apenas de choque pro leitor.

fico surpresa que esse livro todo não tenha gerado o mesmo burburinho que os livros do raphael montes sobre os limites do horror, a autora chegou a utilizar de racismo como artifício de escrita sem nunca fazer o protagonista (que supostamente era alguém incomodado com toda a situação) refletir ou criticar sobre nenhuma das problemáticas retratadas.

infelizmente fiquei bem decepcionada com a leitura e chocada também. esperava algo mais reflexivo, mas acho que vou ter que procurar em outro lugar.

I’m so torn while rating this book…definitely a page turner but in the most horrific way. We are animals.

Finished this and had to stare at the wall for 15 minutes. This book ad I’m sure many other experienced was awful to read but a good read. It needed to be as graphic as it was. While there are many themes at play (capitalism, veganism, misogyny, etc) the first 25 pages reaffirmed my choice to be vegan.
