My joint fav (with the third one of the series). I love a happy ending, yay for Simon.

A satisfying conclusion that at times plays it to safe.

This was a conclusion to City of Bones series . I was okay . I lost interest

This book was a wonderful ending to a great story. While yes it took me a long time to get through the first two chapters once I finally did I wasn't able to put the book down.

Actual rating: 3.5
Trigger warnings: death of a loved one, incest, xenophobia, homophobia.
Rep: queer and bipoc side characters, a minor character w/ implied autism

So this book much like the rest of the series ened up being a mixed bag, but I did enjoy it a bit more than the previous parts of the series. The worldbuilding and characters were pretty cool and interesting (the gang going to Edom, espcecially so) but I feel like the climax could have had a bit of higher stakes than it did. I never for a second felt like the characters were in any sort of risk - even the meeting with Asmodeus, which had been built up as quite dangerous ended up being mostly beneficial by resulting in removing Simon's vampirism and erasing his memories of the Shadow World, a change that is shown as reversable soon enough.
I loved the references to the Infernal Devices books, especially Tessa finally appearing properly. I was so excited to see how she is after so many years.
I don't really believe these books are something spectacular, but they are quite addictive and quick reads. I suppose I'd enjoyed the series a bit more when I was closer to the age group it's intended for.

this, to me, was a really good wrap.

Yah... dengan perjuangan berat karena fontsnya kecil banget akhirnya selesai. Tapi sayangnya buku ini nggak beneran selesai dalam artian secara cerita The Mortal Instruments selesai namun menyisakan sedikit cerita tentang The Infernal Devices. Sebel. Karena bikin penasaran pengen baca :|
