ETA: I've just gotten to listen to the audio and I love Kirt Graves! Always does a great job with the books I've listened to from him, and this is no exception. I just love his buttery, gravel-y voice so much!
Sink or Swim is the follow up to the AMAZING Smash and Grab (seriously, one of my top books from 2020) and I LOVED IT!
Maz has written such a unique world - you won’t read another thing like it. In this series, dinosaurs are shifters and they survived the extinction and are how human. And a team of shifters - RELIC, are out looking for fossils to preserve their history in legitimate means - in museums and true preservation means - rather than with private greedy collectors. It sounds crazy but PLEASE try it! Everyone I have recommended the first book to has wound up LOVING IT, and I need everyone to read this series!
This is Baha’s story - and he is grumpy grump personified, and I loved it. He has to work with Jackson - a cocky shifter who isn't on their team - to bring back some Spinosauraus fossils. I just LOVED their snark and chemistry and all that UST. They weren’t exactly true “enemies” but they definitely had animosity-to-lovers feels. Pair that up with close quarters, fun swimming times, one bed, AND having to pull off a fake relationship? PERFECT TROPES!
There’s danger, exes, some fun night time swimming, and there are some moments that hit you right in the feels as Baha and Jackson grow closer. I just loved it.
So, while Dalton remains one of my most favorite characters ever (and I’m always, always up for cameos from Dalton in future stories, Maz!) This is a VERY solid sequel and I just absolutely loved it from beginning to end.
I cannot wait for Ren and Montana’s stories!

[4.5] are you looking for an enemies-to-lovers story? how about one featuring a classic grumpy/flirty sunshine pairing? why don't we tack on fake fiancées for the heck of it? actually scratch that, what about fake fiancées undercover on a cruise for an illegal fossil auction? there we go, that sounds about right

I've been waiting for the next book in the series and YES. 100% YES. I LOVE IT
Things I didn't really like:
• The fact that's there weren't many side-characters (esp likeable ones)
• Imo, some more heart-to-heart convos could have been added, but that's the romantic in me
• The fact that I can't think of anything else.
Things I loved
•BAHA
•AGAIN BAHA
• I swear I love him sm, dunno why I got so attached to him, but he is now my favorite in the series
• Jackson's humour which was exquisite
• The writing of the story and how Maz got straight to the point
• Jackson's (lesbian) horse
• The entire idea behind this series.
I don't often write reviews, but I feel like this one deserved a review. Im just so captivated by the idea of dino shifters? Maybe just because this idea hasn't been over-used in the book world, anyway, I just wanted to come on here and say how much I bloody enjoyed this book (and the previous one, even though I think I may like this one better). It just ticks so many boxes!
I definitely recommend it (and I'd recommend reading the first book before going into this one because it explains the backstory for the entire dinosaur thing)

Another fun read
Like the last book this was a fast paced fun read that I loved from the very start. I loved the characters especially Baha and Jackson they both clashed and fit so well together at the same time. Baha with his dislike of crowds and many people has a great soft side that I liked seeing. I really liked the plot with two shifters this time going after fossils that don't get along at first but have amazing chemistry with each other I loved how it ended looking forward to more

Yes! This was so much more fun to read than I expected. Dinosaur shifters have become one of my favorites.
Jackson and Baha, complete opposites. imagine placing different kinds of dino shifters on a team called, RELICS. Now they must work together with those vivid personalities.
Fake love becomes all too real.
**I received this ARC via Gay Romance Reviews for my honest feedback.**

A great start and I really loved Baha as he loved the Amazon.
I loved the chemistry of hate and dislike when Baha and Jackson meet. Humor and side comments I had ta laugh at them. The gang, Dalton, Simon, Royal and the others all feature in this from book one. Jackson is funny and when he pulls a few surprises for Baha along the trip on and off the ship. The story moves along for a great book to the series.
Baha was a Spinosaurus wanting to save the fossils of the past species from thieves.
Jackson was a pterosaur shifter who'd had information on a lead on artifacts.
