How adorable is this book?! 17-year-old Molly is a fat girl who has had 26 crushes and not even one kiss. Her twin sister makes it her mission to help Molly get a boyfriend after Molly helps Cassie find her dream girl. Throw in a toddler brother, their moms who are planning their wedding after gay marriage is legalized, two boys who might be interested in Molly at the same time, and an unhealthy interest in all things Pinterest and you have all the ingredients for a completely fun and sweet YA novel.

This book did make me reminisce about my own teenage years; crushes were inevitably more satisfying than trying to have a real relationship because people are so disappointing in real life.

The characters are endearing and realistic; their interactions are plausible and there are some nice checks and balances by the author when relationships start to veer off in an unhealthy direction. When my daughter is a teenager, this is a book I’d like for her to read.

In my rereading era. I don’t really feel quite strongly positive or negative about this book.

3.5 stelle!

Have you ever read a book and wondered if the author knew you personally? That is exactly how I felt while reading The Upside of Unrequited writte  by Becky Albertalli.

Molly Peskin-Suso is very similar to 17 years old me. Never had a boyfriend  or kissed anyone and is FAT. I was always the last one to experience anything, was afraid of rejection  and also had some anxiety.

Molly’s twin sister Cassie reminded me of my childhood bestfriend. She was funny, witty and beautiful. She always had boys after her and would tell everything about it until  she had her first serious boyfriend. I felt angry and left out ,even if she was including me to a lot of things and tried to match me up with one his friend.

Reid reminds me of my current boyfriend. Big nerd, charming and funny. Like Reid my boyfriend has interesting sense of style with similar T-shirts in his wardrobe… but thankfully he does not have white sneakers and is not a mini eggs addict !

Grandma Betty is my grandma from head to toe.. Interesting characters that means well but doesn’t always say it in a proper way.

Maybe I didn’t have 26 crushes like Molly or was not a Pinterest QUEEN but I know I could relate to her in so many ways.

I loved this book and the style of wtitting. It was a quick, fun read and was  also was very inclusive by having same sex parents , characters from different  ethnicity and mental health. I am giving 5/5

I didn't expect to like this book and finish it in a couple of days.

The writing style was very easy for the eyes and very smooth to read. I enjoyed reading this book a lot and it made me laugh all the time.

I loved Molly's character, she's so funny and the voc. the she uses is awesome lol. I'm only giving this book 3 stars because the story is not new, I mean there is nothing creative or unique about it. We've read about about the fat girl who likes a boy but she's too scared to admit it because she has a low self-esteem of herself.

If you want to laugh and enjoy an easy read then this book is for you.

INSTANT NEW FAVE!

Amazing. Perfect. Relatable. Fantastic. One of my top favorite contemporaries.

Reading this book was like falling in and out of love all over again.

The sincerity and humbleness in the portrayal of Molly's first steps in a romantic relationship with all the uncertainties and the butterflies in your stomach clashed with the rushing of some significant topics introduced in the book that could have been dealt more in depth, such as the topic of homophobia introduced with Nadine's sister Karen.

Besides, the book was a nice, pleasant and funny read that managed to describe so perfectly the feeling of falling in love for the first time in such a way that made the story so real and so much more beautiful.
