This book is just so sweet. I was incredibly happy by the diversity included in the characters.

Just wasn’t feeling the substance in this, and Molly really is that shitty of a person

I'd give this more than five stars if I could!

Right, what's the plan if it rains?

This book was adorable, I loved it so much. I was super hesitant to pick this one up because I love Becky's first book [b: Simon Vs. The Homosapien's Agenda|19547856|Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (Creekwood, #1)|Becky Albertalli|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1402915678s/19547856.jpg|27679579], and I was genuinely scared this couldn't live up to the first book. But OH MY GOD I was so wrong. There's a good bit of different LGBTQIAP+ representation in this book as well

This story follows Molly as she contemplates yet another unrequited crush, as well as the changing family dynamic as her twin sister gets a girlfriend. I really thought that Molly would come across as whiny with all the unrequited crushes, but I think she's a very likeable character. She is very well-written, and is very relatable in the way she handles certain situations.

So I assumed that this would be a contemporary book that focused on Molly and her love life, and while it does that, it also takes an important look at family. A huge focus is on how Molly reacts to her twin sister entering her first serious relationship, and how that impacts their relationship and what that means for the future. It forces Molly to consider how their relationship will change as they grow up and go through life separately. I loved this aspect of the story, I haven't really encountered it before in literature.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a cute contemporary, and if you have reservations about it, I would definitely give it a chance. This is a fantastic read and I can't wait to read more by Becky in the future.

P.S. Reid is my forever bae

I would've eaten this up in high school. I am reading it now and I loved it, but high school me would've needed it tbh.
Spoiler
In high school, I was that kid, the extra, and I related to Molly so much. Her hesitance around everything, her insecurity of losing people to relationships, her fear about no one liking her, or people pretending to like her as a joke. This book resonated with me so hard.

And then the conflict between Will and Reid was SO REAL. Will seemed so into her, and her desperation to be around her sister colouring her perception of who she liked. I even like how Mina didn't think Reid was cool, which is very high school. Changing who you like based on who your friends would seem cool since you don't want to be seen as a loser is something I DEFINITELY saw in high school.

I loved how real this felt, and lowkey I love Becky's writing. Some YA reads as childish, but her writing was the perfect blend of high school angst and reality that it didn't feel simple or cringe. It felt deep, and the conflicts reflected reality. I even liked that we got to see a little bit of Cass' struggles as well. We get so caught up in our mess that we forget other people have messes too, and Cass was the perfect reflection of that.

I was not expecting to like this book THIS much, but I think it was really well done. It was so me fr. SO happy I finally read it.

For one, I love this book because it has sisters. Any book that has sisters in it, I like. I saw so much of my sister and myself in these pages. That bond that is so fragile and so strong at the same time is something that I can understand deeply.
I also really understood a lot of Molly's insecurities and found myself crying a couple of times. I don't cry easily for books, so I think that means this one is special. ❤❤❤
Another thing. I love Reid. I love Reid so much. If I were to have a boyfriend, I would want a boyfriend like Reid. His sweet dorkiness is just too hard to stay away from.
Soooo, yeah, this book is so sweet and warm and I just want to go and find someone to cuddle with.

I need to rant. I hated the main character. Hate. Her. Insufferable. The entire book, Molly's whining about how no boy likes her. She was jealous, annoying, and in her own words 'a shitty person'. The writing was good and I liked cassie. The romance between the mothers was somewhat okay too. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it to you unless you want to hear a seventeen year old CHILD whining for 340 pages.

Great read, I can sympathize with a lot of Mollys insecurities. I loved Molly’s growth, stepping away from only having crushes to actually taking a chance and finding some one, and learning that all relationships change but are never lost.
