I think my big issue with this book was that I didn't have fun. You can only hand wave away so much before I don't care and that's exactly what happened. Everything that is said about how the world works in this books is treated as a guess or rumor, so you actually have no idea how the world actually functions. The characters weren't engaging. I feel that Harry could have been interesting but she takes a backseat to Eli and even he feels like a cardboard cut out. It's not a terribly written book, but it just wasn't engaging enough

It was too slow & a little confusing… Lots of world-building & too many backstories/characters to keep track of. The concept is cool but I genuinely couldn’t make it through

This book about time travel (constantly referred to as "history travel", ugh) is somewhat amusing, but mostly frustrating. The whole book is terribly predictable: every plot twist and development can be seen from miles away, which makes the main character who never see any of it coming, very unrelatable.

Kind of a strange book. Time travel is strange and confusing. Those faceless men were super creepy though. Not my favorite book this month, but I guess I'm glad I finished it.

Rolled my eyes at the concept but was sucked in halfway through reading, glad I persisted because it was a fun time.
