A decently, spooky read! I'm a big fan of the writing style and fast pace. The storyline was interesting and kept me floating in a pit of despair throughout. However, I do think Mean Spirited hit me so much harder, so this one kinda had a hard time living up to it for me.

The book was genuinely scary and had plenty of horror. The idea around the tunnel was original and unique. The story flowed very well with the start of each chapter being present day - then shifting to the past so the author can recall the accounts of the story. My only criticism is of how far fetched some of the ideas were. I can get behind there being an other-worldly monster in the tunnel, but the Doppelgängers would teleport it seemed at times and be magical in that sense. Which made for a weird sense on unknowing and mystery that I found to be slightly dissatisfying. Still - a very good read and very well written book.
