Wow. I’ll have a book hangover. This was such a great thriller!!! Murder, teen angst, mean girl drama, girl dating older bad boy, years later trial-prison-serial murder/rape again! So much to unpack! This book is told from a single perspective but the timeline seemlessly goes back and forth helping to reveal the plot and story.
Geo, best friend of mean girl Angela, meets and dates Calvin-21 year old bad boy. He’s hot but abusive. He ends up raping and murdering Anglea and Geo witnesses the whole thing. She helps him hid the body in “fear” of him but she ends up taking the lead telling him to cut up the body. Days later he comes to say goodbye to his “love” rapes her-but she “likes” it and leaves.
She gets away with it for 13 years meanwhile Calvin bc a serial rapist and strangler. She’s a top excutive and engaged to a rich guy.
Body is found Calvin is charged she’s arrested by their other childhood best friend Kiaser but given a plea deal. She spends 5 years in prison- there’s so many great characters in prison Cat her old lady friend suffering from cancer and Ella a bad ass gangster who helps her survive.
She gets out of prison and her lives with her dad who loves her unconditionally throughout this whole ordeal. Murders start to happen-this time mothers and their biological children who are actually Calvin’s children. Kiaser is a lead on the case. He still has a crush on Geo and they finally end up getting together. ?? This dudes messed up-his high school crush is a murder but yet he still has a thing for her? Dang.
Come to find out Geo got pregnant from Calvin raping her and this child is the new serial rapist/murder of the moms and children. He meets with Geo, attacks her and Calvin is the one to save her. He is still madly in love with Geo and never told the cops it was her who cut up the body of Angela. Geo ends up shooting her son and Calvin. In the epilogue she is knocked up by Kiaser and they are together.

Wow, what a messed up story. Parts were a bit incredulous, and I could have done without some of the graphic descriptions, but overall, this one was hard to put down. The author says it best in her note at the end, she has a “twisted imagination.”

Much darker than your average thriller. Includes multiple rape and gore scenes. I found the first half gripping and was racing through the book, but I assumed the big twist before it was revealed. In fact, it seemed rather obvious. The ending was rushed.
