Consistently decent for about 3/4(?) until the main two get together, unfortunately, even though I love established relationships, this just wasn't done well imo. The story world and relationships were all overall more engaging prior to them getting together, a lack of discussion over this relationship with just actions of affection feels lacking considering this book focuses a lot on this main relationship.

The world building and story were fine but definitely not good enough to cover for this, the relationship carried this and unfortunately flopped a bit at the end. The world and plot did not feel interesting or in depth enough frankly, felt more as a facet for the relationship, which would be fine, if the relationship didn't fall off. Also other characters had attempted depth but gosh it was like I was just expected to care about them when I felt like they hadn't got enough time on page/character/story to do so.

6/10.

Also honestly feels like not much happens even though so much does and feels kinda of repetitive. And I love a good character arc and change but these characters... Okay? I guess? Meh.

Sorry 5.5/10.

Typically this would be a book I’d gravitate toward however the modern and post apocalyptic (Covid) world made it hard for me to keep interest. I would love to go back to this in a couple years time where there is distance from the setting.

Yay gay teenagers in a post apocalyptic setting!! This book was cute, did take me a little to get into but overall it was a really sweet story. Focused more on the actual plot furthering the romance, as opposed to events happening and the romance just happening.

It's not a slow burn but it definitely takes a bit before the romance becomes a major plot point. ANYWAYS Andrew's jokes were so millennial even though he's meant to be 17 but... that's okay. Definitely enjoyed my time with this book :)

The moment I read 6 weeks had passed while Andrew was healing and I feel like nothing substantial happened and then Jamie was ready to die for Andrew suddenly I was just turned off. I felt zero connection to these characters and didnt believe the depth of their friendship because barely anything happened 🤦‍♀️ just wasn't feeling it. Love the idea but I couldn't do it. Also had some weirdness with how the dialogue was written with trying to figure out who was talking at times and it was a bit jarring.
