Really enjoyed this and the portrait of modern Britain that it paints. Beautiful writing of landscapes travelled through, hospitality received and all the ordinary and extraordinary things that happen when we put ourselves ‘in the way of hope’. Any book that makes me want to go outside even more than I already do is a good book in my eyes.
