This one had some pretty good storylines that build up nicely towards the grand finale.

These books just keep getting better. I love a nice complex plot in a graphic novel :D

Maybe a 4.5, but this is definitely the weakest volume so far. The major plot, especially the "Wolf Under the Tree" arc, feels perfunctory, nothing more than set-up for what I assume will be a barnstorming final run.

That being said, some of the smaller plot lines and stand-alone episodes are among the series' best. In particular the interweaved "Stitchglass Slide" and "Wire, Briar, Limber Lock", and the wonderfully inventive"Yahweh Dance".

This book is the darkest in the series so far. You can feel the weight of helplessness and despair. My heart goes out to Mazikeen. The book had its unexpected moments but then predictability came marching in. So I took off a star. Lucifer is full of surprises in this book. The book goes a full circle and connects with parts of the first book. The book depicts the hunger for power and the sacrifices that come with it.
