This is the completion of the promise of the first two volumes. In these pages DIE has found it's stride. The dialogue is biting, the art vivid and expressive, the story intoxicating. If you have made it this far then you, like so many, have fallen under the spell of DIE. I now know that the conclusion of this story will be one of my most anticipated reads of this year.

Still a little on the fence with the author inserts and time travel – waiting to see what it culminates in. That being said, I've been incredibly invested in these characters and this story from page one. This is an exceptionally told, beautifully drawn, and masterfully executed story thus far.

On one hand, there are some brilliant moments in this installment. On the other, there are some that made me roll my eyes. Gillen has this tendency to delve into too-meta, which makes me nuts and, for me, it always tends to detract from the story rather than add layers.

The art is still something left to be desired, but the story improved with this volume over volume 2. Plot details seemed to come together better in this story, and like volume 1, the story left me hungry for more. I look forward to next volume of this fascinating fantasy graphic novel set in an RPG world.
