When Livia first met Nash they spend a night flirting and having fun, but nothing more happened since she was still burned from her past. The second time they met she think he is an intruder so naturally she calls the cops on him.

Nash is doing one of the last things he ever wanted to do, go back to his hometown and work on his father brewery while he is recovering on the hospital.

Nash and Livia now have to work together and also share the same apartment for as long as he stays in town.

But Livia is facing some problems, her ex is searching for her and she is doing everything she can to stay under the radar, but as long as he is still after her, her options are limited.

How I love when a romance has suspense in it, and more so when said suspense and danger bring out the protective side of the hero and he works to make her stay safe.

Livia isn't the type of heroine to stay silent and be rescued, she is taking a change because she has learned to only rely on herself. I loved how Nash slowly but surely did everything to make her feel at ease and also provide the support she needed in order to fight back.

Nash was truly amazing, he was so far gone for Livia and it was truly a wonder to see him work his way in to Livia's heart.

It was so lovely to be back to this world and I really hope to be able to return soon.

* I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

I think that the audio narrators had an effect on my enjoyment of this book. They weren't bad but the male narrator did not sound like Nash to me and kept sounding... I don't know, just off to me. I've never disliked any of Sarina's narrators actually, so this was a first for me!

Anyway, story itself I enjoyed, I was definitely interested to see Nash and Livia together after the brief mention of their first meeting in Good as Gold. There's a suspense storyline here due to Livia's background running away from her scary ex and I felt like things moved along really well pace-wise. I liked Nash quite a bit but to be honest, kind of felt like Livia and Nash's chemistry was lacking for me? Again, this could go back to the narration.

Still love the True North verse and cameos from previous fave characters!

I really enjoyed this audiobook! It was immediately easy to get into, and never felt too heavy or flippant, which was quite a feat considering the storyline.

The story opens with Livia (the FMC) calling the cops because she thinks her abusive ex’s henchman has tracked her down while she’s alone at work, only to realise the guy they’ve arrested is her boss’s son Nash. And he’s also the guy she flirted with at a bar years ago and then ghosted. Whoops.

Even though the suspense plot had elements of OTT-ness (Livia’s ex is a very shady guy), I liked that the characters didn’t react in an OTT way, i.e. Nash didn’t kidnap the ex and have him tied up in an abandoned warehouse. Nash was very “looks like he could kill you but is a cinnamon roll”, which was the perfect counter to Liv’s black cat sort of character. A lot of the story was actually about Nash trying to keep his dad’s business running and slice-of-life moments between Livia and Nash, which sounds kind of boring but I found it really engaging.

I put off reading this book because Good as Gold (the first one in this series) felt slower/heavier than I expected, but I’m glad I picked this one up.

Golden Touch by Sarina Bowen was a fantastic return to Vermont. Livia is the grumpy with Nash being the sunshine. Livia is the assistant to Nash's father, with a story like that was started in the first book in the Giltmaker series (Golden Touch is an interconnected stand alone). Nash comes home to help out with the business and with a little forced proximity the sparks start flying. Livia has some secrets and demons which amps up the suspense in this story. I couldn't put it down, I was on the edge of my seat with my heart racing with this one. The banter between these two is fantastic and the romance is beautiful, and we get some fun new characters and cameos from some of our favorites from True North.

I received an arc of this book and voluntarily give my honest review.

This was good, kind of romantic suspense a little bit, if you're into that.
