I recommend playing at least 1 game of hearts before or while reading.

Seriously though, this book is far more about character development than plot. Take your time with it, it’s not a book to rush through.

Loved the connections with the dark tower, and Insomnia to some extent. The 5th story pulled this collection together quite well but still leaves a little mystery.

One of my favourite Kings books. Not only because of the story (which is, well... good) but also because of references to other writers that I love, like Clifford D. Simak.

This unique work of fiction features 2 novellas & 3 short stories, all interconnected. It's engrossing, clever, thought-provoking & emotionally complex. One of his best and that's saying something!
My full review & a sample of the audio, read by William Hurt:

Honestly, I only love stories involving Bobby, Ted, and the low men.
