This was my least fav in the series so far. It’s just the events of Kiss the Sky and Hothouse Flower from Lily and Lo’s perspective, with some added moments here and there. Nothing really happened at all, it was mostly just experiencing lilos feelings on things instead of seeing new things unfold. This book would NOT make sense AT ALL if you didn’t read kts and hf. Even though its a full length installment that’s part of the series, it totally felt like a novella. Lily is also totally dumb and the fact that she goes to PRINCETON blows my mind (I know she’s rich and has connections but whatever). Like I know she loves fiction and superheroes and stuff but I genuinely can’t tell if she’s like a brainless ditz or if she has a sense of self awareness. Lo is also starting to slide down a dangerous path and for the majority of this book he is angry.
I hope the series gets a bit better from here, the first three books are absolutely superior five star reads but I like each subsequent book a little less as I continue on.
Still love this series though. I love reading these books they are just light entertainment I don’t have to take seriously.
☞ 3 stars (liked it)

reading this book after kiss the sky and hothouse flower didn't feel like a repetition, being able to read what happened through Lily's and Lo's povs was really helpful and important to me, especially knowing how much pain and guilt they felt.
The core six will forever hold a special place in my heart, i don't think any found family could come close to them tbh.
Seeing them finally come to the realisation that they are loved and not alone made me feel so happy because I couldn't stand Lo trying to push Ryke away despite knowing he needed him so much. Can't wait to read the next book

2.5 stars - stating again that I’m doing a re-read/re-listen, as there was no ratings on the random app where I first read. AND do not mistake my feelings towards the characters for my feelings for the authors. I own 25-30 of their books. I wouldn’t if I didn’t like them.
That being said… (contains spoilers)
I just really don’t like Lily & Lo. Getting this book from their POV for events that already happened is just to annoy me, I think! However, I do like the extra peek into different things like Connor’s & Rose’s wedding.
Toxicity. Hypocrisy. Selfishness. That’s all they are to me. Oh look, they’re lying to everyone again? Great. Lo is lying to Lily? Awesome. Lily is even lying to Lo? Fantastic.
We have one scene where Lily is talking about how she’s doing so well, controlling her impulses/compulsions, WHILE having limo loving with Lo, stating they do it at least 3 times per day, and when Lo checks the time, Lily says she doesn’t care if they are late to their niece’s show, let’s do it again. Give me a break. Eye rolling so hard. Remember when they missed Rose’s show? Or when she wanted to miss Daisy’s too? Sure, just disappoint the child as well.
Lily getting mad at Rose that the media didn’t vilify her for the sex she was having with her one and only partner, when Lily had the whole frat tell the media about the train they ran on her. Girl, please. Stop hating your sister because her kinks are different than your addiction.
Then we have the pregnancy test scene. Lily says “I don’t see how I could be the stupid one.” Hmm. Maybe because you forgot to take your birth control for who knows how many days, but you’re getting stuffed 3 times a day? Geez, I don’t know why you’d be stupid. Still eye rolling.
And then we have them being sad/mad/hurt that Ryke & Daisy didn’t tell them they got together. Let’s gloss over that Lo has been threatening Ryke’s life for years over Daisy for just his words, but Lily is hiding an actual pregnancy from Lo right now because of his mental state. Also, Daisy just went through hell, she’s been going through hell for years because of Lily, and you guys are mad she didn’t tell you about Ryke?! Get a grip!!
Let’s start with the CONS this time: Lily & Lo, and Samantha Calloway, as always!
PROS: Sadie! Just because I want to give her a shoutout!!

I love the characters in this so bad 😭😭😭
One problem i find in this book is the pacing though. I found some parts of the book I really wanted to stop and focus on the huge event that just happened and how it impacted them in detail, but we would just keep moving on so quickly due to the amount of time that needed to be covered.
