I never read this book in school and was astonished how consistent human behavior is given this book was written over 100 years ago. It’s like love island pious edition up in there.

I wish I could find someone like Jane. The way she is so good to Mr. Rochester but never gives up on her principles. No matter what happens to him and what he's gone through she loves him for him. Didn't know what this book was about going in but could not put it down. Loved it.

A fantastic piece of literature. I thoroughly enjoyed this. The style of writing was delightful to read—flowery in the way old books are, but with an excellent flow that made it very easy to read.
The character of Jane is interesting to me. She’s strong willed, but is also extremely influenced by the people around her.
I think one of the most fun parts about reading this book for me was thinking about the interplay between the time it was written and now. What did the author intend at the time, and with what biases did she write? How does it read on face value now, and how have the biases shifted so as to change how it lands? The differences between gender relations, class relations, religion, etc, are so clearly seen and examined.
