this felt like glorified historical fanfiction with an interesting narrator. I fell asleep twice during the audiobook and somehow didn’t miss much. It‘s somewhat educational tho

A bisexual ghost tells the story of her sorry life whilst we hear about Sand and Chopin. It was nicely evocative and a bit of a melodrama.

I want this to be a part of my 5 star reads, so instead of 4.5, it gets 5.

Whew. What a book. I was engrossed from the first page. What a near perfectly written, beautiful, haunting (metaphorically and literally), romantic and heartbreaking story. I loved the omnipotent perspective of Blanca and passing time with her and the people she kept in her company. Nell gave us permission to feel every feeling from every perspective, and that is a delicate art.

At first I was concerned about the ending based off some other reviews, but it ended as I thought it would and it had a very satisfactory parting note.

This will stay on my bookshelf <3
