no one has done sexual tension like cezhou. i have never read better dialogue between two people who genuinely hate each other to the point of death, while simultaneously saying the most unhinged flirtiest lines without it sounding artificial. "ooooh but if they actually want to kill each other that's too toxic, only rivals to lovers is okay-" shut up. sit down. open up the map of the six prefectures of zhongo and let's talk about how geography of the region set the stage for the novel then.

the politics and information felt overwhelming at times, but lord, i would sit through it all and more.

this read was almost a year in the making and it was one of the best experiences of my life.

it’s a historical epic filled with court politics in a clash between classes over the rightful ruler of a nation meant to prosper. a huge, wide cast of characters from all backgrounds get their chance to shine and in the middle of it, cezhou’s love story grows stronger.

enemies and allies are two terms that become interchangeable in this story and being my first fan translation of a danmei, there will never be anything quite like this again for me.

i feel really bittersweet to be saying goodbye to this translation but im happy to know the story will continue to live on. let this series prosper as it should!!
