Many pieces feel very dated and biased. He shames feminine sexuality with no mention of its male counterpart. Very gendered biases throughout.

The concept of identifying and using a "love language" that is specific to each person is a useful tool. However, the idea is simple enough that you can get what you need to know from a cursory Google search or a short browse through the Love Language website (5lovelanguages.com). There's no need to sit through an entire (although short) book along with its aggravating Biblical/Christian references.

A wonderful expansion from the original Five Love Languages book. What I love most is that these principles are so basic to understand and to implement. (I triple dog dare you to try it on a loved one for a month. ;)) Loving others doesn’t have to be hard, but it can be carefully thought out and intentional. That, I think, is the main message of this book, though now love’s attention is directed to our children.

Loved it! 5 stars

This book taught me a lot. I was already pretty sure I knew what my daughter's love language was but since reading this I have seen it evident in her daily and seen areas I need to improve on. Also, seeing how discipline and her love language tie together made so much sense. I definitely recommend this book to all parents!
